Nigeria is becoming one of the highest user of power banks.
Portable Power Banks are comprised of a special battery in a special case with a special circuit to control power flow. They allow you to store electrical energy (deposit it in the bank) and then later use it to charge up a mobile device (withdraw it from the bank). Power Banks have become increasingly popular as the battery life of our beloved phones, tablets and portable media players can be outstripped by the amount of time we spend using them each day. By keeping a battery backup close by, you can top-up your devices while far from a wall outlet.




Smartphones are no longer being accepted as for whatever battery life they provide. Consumers are demanding more and more in a way to be sure of their battery life, regardless of what model they own, or how often they switch phones. Power banks are an excellent solution. They have a use for any new smartphone owner in emergencies and since smartphone batteries tend to hold less charge over time, the power bank is a quick, easy, and inexpensive alternative.

Research and statistics have proven that when it comes to battery life, travelers have the least luck. More than 38% of smartphone users panic about running out of battery at least once a week. The business users: making a lot of calls, reading and lots of other communications. The student users: texting, social networking, gaming and videos. Travelers: making calls, taking a lot of pictures and videos.
We have truly come to the age of the power bank. Consumer interest has been steadily increasing in the past years as power banks now line the shelves of retailers in order for people to match their devices to the right capacity.

People are still not sure what to call the power banks yet. The official name for the product is “power bank” but they have also been marketed as “portable chargers,” “phone chargers,” “battery chargers,” “external batteries,” “emergency chargers,” and “power packs.” This is indecision over naming and just goes to show how new this product is to the market, as well as how much interest there is to it.
Power banks have been around for years and in various shapes and sizes but they are gaining popularity now because of the exponential growth of the smartphone market and the increase in awareness of goods that help assist the smartphone experience.

One symptom of consumer readiness and interest in power banks is the cropping up of phone charging kiosks that can now be seen mostly at densely populated communities around Nigeria. But of course these kiosks are seen to be positioned at many stadiums, universities, and airports abroad.
Power banks not only make a great end-product for consumers, but are an ideal promotional product. They may even, one day, replace the USB drive as the ultimate promotional product. Power bankd are good for almost any USB-charged devices. Cameras, GoPros, Portable speakers, GPS systems, MP3 players, smartphones and even some tablets can be charged from a power bank practically anything that charges from USB at home can be charged from a Power Bank – you just have to remember to keep your Power Bank charged, too.
