Police call after postman is trapped in van by WILD TURKEYS

A postman placed this rather unusual emergency call for help when he became trapped in his van - by WILD TURKEYS .

The birds closed in around the vehicle and he claimed that he could not escape, so placed a call to his branch.

In turn, the local post master called Hillsdale Police in New Jersey just after 12pm on February 16.

The newly-released emergency call went: "Hey Sarge, this is the postmaster over in Hillsdale. You're not going to believe this, but I have a carrier that's being attacked by wild turkeys, won't let him deliver the mail.

"This has been going on. It's crazy. They were actually attacking, biting, chase the trucks - everything."

Big and Massive Pythons Found In Derelict Building

Two massive pythons have been discovered in a derelict building in Australia.

A team of snake catchers had been called out to inspect some old buildings on Cairns' Northern Beaches that were due for demolition.

The owner already suspected that there were snakes or other wildlife lurking among the walls and floors and when the snake catchers arrived, they found two 4.5m-long amethystine pythons.

David Walton, owner of Cairns Snake Removals, said the snakes remained "quite calm" while they were being handled.

Invasion Of Bats Forces Closure Of Texas Hospital

An invasion of small bats has led to the closure of the emergency section of a hospital in east Texas.

Good Shepherd Medical Centre said "a number of small bats" had moved into the Longview-based hospital's standalone emergency unit in nearby Kilgore.

The bats were in the building's walls and ceilings with some even moving into the area where the ambulances go, it said.

Efforts are under way to get them removed - but for now, emergency medical services have had to be suspended in the hospital.

Know it today that Americans throw away approximately 130 million cell phones every year. Where do these old phones go when they die? Too often, they pile up in toxic e-waste sites in the world’s poorest nations, posing serious health risks to the people (many of them children) who melt the phones down in order to extract and sell the metals they contain.
Four the past four years, Taiwanese artist Lin Shih-Pao has been traveling the world, trying to prevent a tiny fraction of the world’s discarded phones from adding to this e-waste problem. After spending $30,000, he managed to amass a collection of 25,000 old and discarded cell phones. Now, after four months of labor, he’s transformed this pile of dead devices into a life-sized, two-ton sculpture of a car. Color-sorted cell phones glued and nailed to a wooden frame form mosaicked silver hubcaps, black tires, and a rainbow hood. “The work represents hopes for human technology to transition to cleaner energy sources,” Lin told the Taipei Times. It’s a particularly inventive artistic interpretation of the EPA’s mandate to “reduce, reuse, recycle.”
