French tech blog Nowhereelse (which has a pretty solid track record of accurate leaks) has obtained some pretty clear pictures of the new super-sized flagship.
With the regular S6 Edge stacked on top, you can see the clear size difference. Just based on those images, it looks like the microphone has been moved slightly, and there’s no infrared sensor. The latter is likely down to the leaked handset being an early prototype.
Specifications are likely to be the mostly the same, save for the larger 5.7-inch display and the mammoth 3700mAh battery. What’s not clear is whether or not we’ll see any added functionality to the Edge’s curves.
Patently Mobile picked up on a patent filed by Samsung last November, which seems to illustrate a curved edge smartphone (the S6 Edge) and multiple ways to utilize the curve. In particular, initiating certain controls depending on how you grip the device. For example, gripping both sides of the Edge with your palms could automatically bring up the keyboard. Or, perhaps, using the either edge as a way to control volume or zoom in on a picture.
