Is that a goodnews for windows 10 OS users? bidness has some tips for us.
A polish hacker by the name of Karov_mm claims to have loaded the
popular Play Store in Windows 10 Mobile. Project Astoria on Windows 10
Mobile promises to bring Android applications on the platform; but the
mere thought of having the entire Play Store on Windows is just
mind-boggling.
Microsoft Corporation
is currently working on Windows 10 Mobile, after the successful launch
of the PC version last month. In doing so, Microsoft will compete with
the duopoly of Apple Inc. and Google Inc.
within the smartphone industry. Many have played down the possibility
that the upcoming Windows 10 Mobile will be a major force disrupting the
prevailing dominance of Apple and Google. Windows 10 Mobile will be
considered a worthy competitor only if it offers users more applications
than Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.
Previously, hackers managed to side-load Android packages for Google Play Services on Windows; however, they failed to get adopted due to insufficient permissions. Karov_mm was able to avoid qualms regarding permissions while loading Android files by using chmod from adb shell. Furthermore, the hacker uploaded screen shots that displayed the Google Play Store running flawlessly on the Windows platform.

If
such hacks continue to work on the upcoming builds of Windows 10
Mobile, then users can look forward to having an entire Google ecosystem
readily available. Interested users should take note that trying to get
Windows 10 Mobile devices to run Android APKs could easily brick the
device. Microsoft will not provide any kind of safeguard against such an
instance; one should therefore wait until the release of the device.
Microsoft Lumia devices currently compatible with Google Play
Services and Android APIs include Lumia 435, Lumia 635 (1GB RAM
variant), Lumia 730, Lumia 820, Lumia 830, Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia
928, Lumia Icon, Lumia 930, and Lumia 1520. However, these should run on
the Windows 10 Preview build for the services to work.
