Windows 10: Cortana
Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana--previously only available on Windows Phone is now available in Windows 10 on a system-wide level. Cortana allows users to ask her voice queries and perform tasks just like on Windows Phone. However, Cortana on the desktop goes further by being able to find files on your computer using natural language input such as “Find PowerPoint slides about the charity auction” and “Show me photos from December.”

-
In the window that appears click the “I’m in!” button.

Cortana” to allow your PC to always listen for you voice, which allows
you to speak your commands to Cortana without clicking anything first.
If you want to enable this, click “Yes please”.

Cortana: Telling Cortana More About You

like and she’ll remember that when you ask for the latest scores.

If for whatever reason you chose not to enable the voice-activated “Hey, Cortana” feature of Cortana when you first set her up, no worries, you can easily activate it at any time. Why might you want to enable “Hey, Cortana”? Quite simply because giving her a voice command is much less involved the clicking a few times and typing in a text command. To enable “Hey, Cortana”:-
Click the search box by the Start menu.
-
Click on the Notebook icon in Cortana’s window.
-
Click the Settings button.
-
On the Settings screen that appears, toggle the “Hey Cortana” switch to ON.

and issue commands by saying “Hey Cortana” and then speaking your
request.
Cortana: Identify What Music Is Playing
One of the coolest features of Cortana for music buffs is the ability for her to discover which song is playing. Cortana will listen to the song and then identify it and keep a record of all the song’s she identified. This service is similar to the Shazaam service you find on many mobile phones. But having it built into your desktop OS is arguably handier–if you’re working on your laptop at a cafe and hear a song you like it’s much easier to ask Cortana to identify it then having to take out your phone and open any music identification app.To ask Cortana to identify currently-playing music:
-
Click the search box by the Start menu.
-
Click on the Music icon in Cortana’s window. Cortana will automatically listen to the song and return the identification result.
