3. Read the privacy terms and click “I agree”. If you don’t agree you can’t use Cortana.
   
4. On the next screen choose whether you want to enable “Hey, Cortana” to allow your PC to always listen for you voice, which allows you to speak your commands to Cortana without clicking anything first. If you want to enable this, click “Yes please”.

Cortana: Getting General Information

Once Cortana is set up you can begin using her to get general information, such as news and weather. Here’s how:

1. Click the search box by the Start menu.
   
2. Cortana’s window will appear with recent news stories. This News view is the default window for Cortana.
   
3. You can then type in Cortana’s “Ask me anything” box or click the microphone icon in the box and speak your query. A good sample command is something like “What’s the weather in London?”

One of the coolest features of Cortana for music buffs is the ability for her to discover which song is playing. Cortana will listen to the song and then identify it and keep a record of all the song’s she identified. This service is similar to the Shazaam service you find on many mobile phones.
