Apple is unveiling their new Ipad mini soon.
The
iPad mini 4 will be the thinnest offering in the iPad mini series, if
freshly leaked 3D Computer-aided designs are to be believed.
The draft was shared online by the reliable leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer aka @OnLeaks. It gained almost 41,000 views over the weekend.
Citing the leaked render video, MacRumors reported
that the iPad Mini 4's thickness is measured to be 6.1mm. This makes
it 1.4mm less than the iPad mini 3's 7.5mm thickness.
The leak also implies that the Mini 4 will
be similar to the iPad Air 2 above all else. This is a far cry from the
upcoming iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Both iPhone devices are reported to be
bulkier than their predecessors. The slimmer frame is noteworthy but the iPad mini 4's main draw lies from within.
Considerable improvements from the iPad
mini 3 are to be expected. It has also been reported that the upcoming
Mini will have an 8 megapixel rear iSight camera, A8 processor, and 2GB
of RAM.
In addition, Mashable speculated
that the mini 4 is to be fitted with a new processor and will have a
laminated display and an anti-reflective coating akin to that of the
iPad Air 2.
The iPad mini 4 could be unveiled at
Apple's scheduled press event rumored to be this Sept. 9. If true, it
will be sharing the spotlight with the new iPhones and iPads.

According to inside sources via BuzzFeed,
Apple is planning to stage an event during the second week of September
with the most possible date being Sept. 9 since it is the same date
that the company held a press event last year.
The event could highlight the new iPhones
and will debut an improved version of the Apple TV. Although one of the
new next-gen iPads could be seeing screen time at the event, Apple
usually announces their new iPads at a separate event in October.
In the meantime, the next-gen iPhones,
dubbed the 6s and 6s Plus, will reportedly come with upgraded cameras,
improved chipsets, and a pressure-sensitive Force Touch display.
On the other hand, reports have claimed
that the new Apple TV will have a thinner frame, an A8 system processor,
and a revamped remote control with new touch-pad mechanics. The
next-gen Apple TV could also support Siri voice control and the App
Store.
