Samsung Galaxy S7 Specs And Features: 20-Megapixel Camera With RAW Support

Conflicting rumors for the Samsung Galaxy S7 camera continue. Amid reports that the 2016 flagship could feature a 25-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX300 lens or a 12-megapixel lens with a 1/2-inch sensor, is a new rumor that the Galaxy S7 may include a 20-megapixel camera with RAW image support. Tech informant S Leaks tweeted about the feature in late October.

Devices like the HTC One A9, HTC One M9 and LG G4 all include RAW image support. The advanced photography mode allows users to set their own image options before taking a photo. Many manufacturers including Samsung have been marketing their mobile cameras as having near DSLR quality without features such as RAW support, is the equivalent of treating photos in a dark room. The Samsung Galaxy S6 for example features a Pro model and HDR mode for improving image quality.
With all of the camera rumors floating around for the Galaxy S7, there is no saying what kind of camera the device will contain.

Recent reports have detailed that Samsung has a trademark for BRITECELL technology, which offers a larger sensor for more light exposure. This report leans toward the Galaxy S7 featuring the rumored 12-megapixel lens. Pixel-wise it could be seen as a downgrade from the 16-megapixel shooters on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5. However, many manufacturers have been downgrading megapixel quantity to and ramping up on software improvements on its mobile camera.
In addition to camera, rumored hardware for the Galaxy S7 includes the Exynos 7422, Exynos 8890 and/or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chips, 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch display models and 3GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S7 may also include a form of Force Touch, branded as ClearForce and a USB-Type C port.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 may be announced in January and may fit markets in February.
