Apple has published a list of products that will be considered “obsolete” this December. The list includes Macs, the first-generation iPod touch, and a number of Beats devices, which will no longer be eligible for service or repair through Apple support.
“On December 8, 2015, the products listed below will be classified as either vintage or obsolete in Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, Japan, Latin America, the United States, and Apple Retail Stores,” explains Apple’s notice.

The full list of products that will become obsolete includes:
  • iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009)
  • iMac (27-inch, Late 2009)
  • MacBook Air (Mid 2009)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2009)
  • MacBook (13-inch, Early 2008)
  • MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2009)
  • Apple Cinema Display (23-inch, DVI Early 2007)
  • Time Capsule 802.11n (1st Generation)
  • iPod touch (1st generation)
Some of these products will be considered “vintage” rather than obsolete in California and Turkey, where Apple is required to continue offering some support in certain cases.
There is also a number of aging Beats products on Apple’s list, including:
  • iBeats
  • Beatbox
  • Beatbox Portable (1st generation)
  • Wireless (1st generation)
  • Diddybeats
  • Heartbeats (1st generation)
After December 8, none of these products will be eligible for support from Apple, or Apple authorized resellers. If you own one of these and it develops technical problems, then, you’ll have to fix it yourself or find a third-party repairer.
