Who wins the Battle? iPhone 6S Plus vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Anonymous     00:00:00     Android, iPhone     No comments

The two most powerful operating system are at war again.Samsung has evolved and only an ignorant would argue and say that the latest Galaxy flagships have a design that looks cheap. Because it is wrong to consider the glass back of the Note 5 of a poor quality, considering that its predecessor had a faux leather design with a metal frame. It’s a big step for Samsung and the South Korean company took it after receiving a lot of criticism for the ugly older models. Apple has no reason to change anything about its products, because they’re all famous for their aluminum construction, and the iPhone 6S Plus is identical to its predecessor, only that it has a new variant of color, Rose Gold.

Designs

We think that the Note 5 looks a lot more beautiful than the iPhone 6S Plus, because of its glass back with rounded edges, being very easy to hold in your hand, but it’s a bit slippery, so if you’re palms are sweating, you’d better buy a cover for the phone, to not drop it by mistake, as for the colors of the back, you’ll have to choose between Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Silver Titan and White Pearl. The device brings the popular S Pen stylus with which you can take notes directly on the screen, but it lacks a fingerprint scanner, the phablet measures 153.2×76.1×7.6mm and its weight is 171grams.

The iPhone 6S Plus has an aluminum back with two thin strips at the top and bottom, hiding the radio antennas. Its edges are rounded, since Apple made this small improvement on the previous iPhone 6 Plus, but overall, the design is identical. If you’re a woman, you’ll surely want to buy the Rose Gold edition, which looks pretty awesome, and you will notice that the device no longer bends, because Apple used a tougher alloy, 7000 series aluminum, which is thicker. Therefore, the phone measures now 158.2×77.9×7.3mm and its weight has been increased by 20grams, weighting now 192grams, also, this model features a fingerprint scanner hidden inside the circular home button.

Displays

The advantage of the iPhone 6S Plus is the Force Touch technology, which was integrated into the same Retina screen which measures 5.5-inch and supports a Full HD resolution of 1080x1920pixels at 401ppi. But the screen doesn’t have the rich hues of Note 5’s 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen which supports a much higher resolution of 1440x2560pixels (~518ppi pixel density). Also, the Note 5 has a brighter screen which reaches 510 nits, while the iPhone 6S Plus reaches 498 nits, the Note 5 is also able to reproduce 193 percent of the sRGB color gamut, while the iPhone 6S Plus can reproduce only 105.1 percent.

Hardware

The iPhone 6S Plus is powered by an A9 processor which is backed by 2GB of RAM. Many reviewers tested it and demonstrated that it’s quite fast, being able to open a 1.6GB PDF file in 375 milliseconds and it opened the camera in 66.3 ms while 10 application were running in the background. The Note 5, with its octa-core Exynos 7420 processor with 4GB of RAM needed 626 ms to open the PDF file and 94.8 ms to open the camera.
In Geekbench 3, the Note 5 scored 5,088, while the iPhone 6S Plus scored 4,405, the order has changed in the single-core portion of the same test, where the Apple phablet scored 2,531 and the Samsung device scored 1,497.

Cameras and Batteries

The Note 5 has a 16MP main camera which supports OIS, but it’s outperformed by the 12MP camera of the iPhone 6S Plus, which is able to make the sky look bluer and the buildings look “warmer”, the front camera has the same resolution of 5MP on both phones, but the iPhone phablet takes more natural looking skin tones.
Note 5’s 3,000mAh battery lasted 7 hours and 58 minutes when browsing the internet over 4G LTE with a screen brightness of 150 nits, while the iPhone 6S Plus, with its 2,750mAh battery lasted 8 hours and 16 minutes.
