Curved screen smartphones are getting more and more popular nowadays and it’s not surprising the BlackBerry has decided to bring a curved edge screen on its Priv device. Today we’re going to compare the BlackBerry Priv with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and let you decide which one is better for you.
Designs
The BlackBerry Priv comes with a metal frame and a back panel with a fiberglass finish. The device has a curved screen with dual curved edge and can display notifications, the amount of battery charge and other information on it. BlackBerry Priv also features a physical keyboard which will surely be enjoyed by the persons who are used with the old type of keyboard. Unfortunately, the device doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner, which is a downside.
The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus also features a metal frame, the back panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 and it also has dual curved edges which can be customized to show important information. The home button of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has also a fingerprint scanner incorporated into it.
Displays
The BlackBerry Priv sports a display size of 5.4-inches that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 540 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. On the other hand, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has a bigger display of 5.7-inches that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 518 ppi and it’s also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The BlackBerry Priv comes with a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.44GHz and a dual-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, an Adreno 418 graphics card and 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has an Exynos 7420 chipset, an octa-core processor formed from a quad-core Cortex A57 processor clocked at 2.1GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 clocked at 1.5GHz, a Mali- T760MP8 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.
Storages
The BlackBerry Priv is released with 32GB of internal storage, but features a microSD card slot that supports a card up to 200GB. On the other hand, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus device has been released in two storage variants of 32GB and 64GB and don’t support a card slot.
Cameras
The BlackBerry Priv sports a primary camera of 18MP and a secondary camera of only 2MP. The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus comes with a primary camera that has only 16MP, but compared to the BlackBerry Priv, it has a more powerful secondary camera of 5MP.
Batteries
Both devices have non-removable batteries, but the BlackBerry Priv has a bigger one that supports a capacity of 3410, compared to Galaxy S6 Edge Plus’s 3000 mAh unit.
