This could sound weird but is true. Apple is set to unveil its next smartphone alongside a new Apple Watch model in September.
There is no shortage of rumours about the device. Apple is expected to unveil a water resistant design with no headphone port – and no Home Button.
But a new concept video has unleashed the craziest iPhone design yet.
Apple is expected to refresh the industrial design with its next smartphone, the iPhone 7
Four carbon fibre arms to expand the body of the phone and stretch-out the display
Created by Sonitdac, the team imagines the iPhone could stretch the display screen estate thanks to a series of small rollers hidden inside the device and four carbon fibre arms to expand the body.
When the screen is rolled up, the imagined iPhone looks similar to the current generation, although there are a few more curves.
Unfortunately for the team at Sonitdac, not all of the 1.4 million YouTube viewers are positive about the out-there design concept.
"Widescreen button gets accidentally pressed while being in your pocket the phone will rip your pants, you're genius my friend!," one viewer commented on YouTube.
Another pointed out a problem with the smartphone-turned-tablet design, "Or buy an ipad".
"All they are going to do with the new iPhone is make it like the Samsung s6 edge," a YouTube commenter posted.
Another commented: "If this is real, I won't buy it".
Apple is expected to release a new version of the iPhone long before the summer release of the iPhone 7.
The Cupertino company is rumoured to be releasing a four-inch smartphone in the coming weeks, with rumours suggesting the new device will be called the iPhone 5SE.
