Microsoft reveals plans to release Windows 10 Mobile Rom for Xiaomi Mi 5 and OnePlus 2.
This is a cell phone modder’s dream come true. Microsoft is working on launching Windows 10 Build on Android smartphones. Yes you read that right, and no this isn’t a dream. After releasing the Windows 10 Mobile build for Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL on Feb 24, Microsoft now announced its plans to offer the Windows 10 Mobile ROM for the OnePlus 2 and the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 5.This isn’t the first time where Windows 10 coming on an Android device. In December, Microsoft teamed up with Xiaomi to test Windows 10 Mobile on its Mi 4. Xiaomi tested Microsoft's mobile operating system internally, and made the ROM available for users using the Chinese version of Mi 4.
What’s interesting though, is that both the devices; The Mi 5 and OnePlus 2, sport a USB Type-C connector. Now there hasn’t been any news with respect to continuum being available on these devices, but considering the presence of USB Type-C, it seems highly likely.

As of now this is just a test build, however in a few months Microsoft could release Windows 10 for many Android devices, enabling them to dual boot into either Android or Windows, enjoying the best of both worlds. Microsoft has already teamed up with over 40 OEM partners across the globe. We cannot say how refined the interface would be, yet the ability to use both the operating systems is just fascinating.
