10 Things to Know About the iPhone 6 iOS 9.2.1 Update

 loveswaggs     10:10:00     iPhone     No comments

The iPhone 6 iOS 9.2.1 update is old but it’s still relevant and today we want to take a look at the most important things you need to know about the company’s iPhone 6 iOS 9.2.1 release.
The iPhone 6’s iOS 9.2.1 update was originally confirmed in mid-December. In mid-January, Apple deemed iOS 9.2.1 worthy of public consumption and released for the iPhone 6 and its other iOS 9 powered devices.
If you own an iPhone 6 and you’re on iOS 9.2, you’ll find the iOS 9.2.1 update lurking in your Settings or in iTunes. It’s a small update but there’s a lot you need to know about it.

The iPhone 6 iOS 9.2.1 update isn’t as big as the iOS 9.1 or iOS 9.2 updates that came before it but it’s still an important upgrade for the aging former flagship smartphone. It might not deliver new features but it does bring bug fixes and security patches.

Now that we’re a few months removed from the iOS 9.2.1 release date we want to take a look at the iPhone 6’s update.
This roundup features details about its performance, about the iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak, and some news about the update that could replace iOS 9.2.1 down the road.

iPhone 6 iOS 9.2.1 Review
We've been using the iPhone 6 iOS 9.2.1 update since its release in January and we recently published our final thoughts on its performance.
We've been using the iPhone 6's latest update for two months now and we still haven't seen a drastic change in performance. The update is still performing at a high level.
The iPhone 6's battery life is outstanding, connectivity is strong and reliable, our core applications are behaving, and the iPhone 6 is still very fast. We haven't seen any lag when using Control Center, Notifications or Spotlight.
More importantly, we haven't encountered any experience-breaking issues. It feels very stable on the 4.7-inch model. (Note, we've been testing the update on AT&T and Verizon models.)
At this point, we still recommend it to those of you coming from iOS 9.2. It probably won't be a boon for performance but it does come with some important fixes for Enterprise users and security patches to help protect the iPhone 6.

If you're coming from something older than iOS 9.2, say iOS 8.4.1, you'll want to be a little more careful. For us, this is a very stable version of iOS 9 but mileage always varies.
