James Ikechukwu Esomugha, simply known as Jim Iyke was born in Libreville, Gabon in September 1976. He is a popular actor in the Nigerian movie industry, also known as Nollywood. Jim Iyke is the only boy and has seven sisters. The graduate of the University of Jos, Plateau state made his first appearance on camera in the 2002 movie $1 (One Dollar). Since then, he has appeared in more than 150 films.


By 2005, Jim had made over a hundred million naira from his roles, starring in both Nollywood (Nigerian) movies and Ghallywood (Ghanaian) movies. 2005 was also the year he was suspended along with a few other notable personalities like Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Ekeinde.

He tried his hands on music and released a few tracks; including the very popular “Who Am I?” which made him some cash on the side pending when the suspension was over. In 2007 he started his movie production company “Untamed Productions” and also started his own music label “Untamed Records”. He has starred in a lot of movies but some of his highest paid ones include Kings and Queens, Last Flight to Abuja, The Mechanic, Who Is the Man, And Then There Was You, and Palace War. Jim Iyke ran a reality show for a while then stopped when his relationship with Nadia Buhari began hitting the rocks before they finally called it off. Jim Iyke is the founder and CEO of Jim Iykes Foundation for Children with Special Disabilities. He is also rumoured to own a Hotel and a Night club, both in Rivers state. He was involved in a controversial deliverance at the Church of All nations which went viral on social media. From acting, his music record label, his movie production company, and his other businesses, Jim Iyke is one of the richest Nigerian actors with a net worth of $15 million.
