Sometimes people bring deaths upon themselves.
A man has been shot dead by his girlfriend as he tried to teach her how to use a rifle, police in Florida say.
Officials said the unnamed 24-year-old woman who lived with her boyfriend Robert F Branton, called authorities and said Branton was trying to show her how to use the rifle when she accidentally shot him in the leg.
The shooting apparently took place at 12:30am in a house in Daytona Beach.
Branton was taken to Halifax Hospital Port Orange but was pronounced dead, officials said.

The woman had been questioned by police but it hadn't yet been determined whether or not she will face charges and the investigation continues.
Many firearms are legal and widespread in Florida and the state doesn't require a special permit to purchase one.
But automatic rifles and other assault weapons are subject to some restrictions.
It is not known the exact nature of the weapon used in this case.
