Some iOS 9 users have complained Facebook's app has been excessively eating away at their battery life, even when the background app refresh setting is disabled.
A
Facebook representative told ABC News the company is aware of "reports
of some people experiencing battery issues with our iOS app, adding
"we're looking into this and hope to have a fix in place soon.:
It's
unclear what possible issue may be causing the battery drain. Want to
see which apps are the culprits for eating most of your battery? Head to
settings and then battery for a breakdown of the past 24 hours or a
one-week look at your usage. Tapping the list will show how much of the
battery drain was spent when the app was running in the background.
You
can turn off the egregious offenders by going to settings, general and
choosing background app refresh. Toggling the apps off should disable
them from running in the background and sucking up precious battery life
when you aren't using them.
As
for the reported Facebook issue: If it's a real nuisance, users can
delete the app and log on via the Safari browser until there is a fix
