Today we comparing two phones of same product to know the best.Samsung released two variants of screen sizes for each model and these tablets are part of the mid-range category. The Tab S2 was released this summer with some decent specs and a good price. The other tablet came a year ago and you’ll see that its back has the same pattern that was used for the Galaxy S5 flagship. Some of you’ve got nothing against the perforated dots, because more important are the competencies of this device. In this article we’ll compare the Tab S2 and its predecessor.
Designs and Displays
As we specified in the intro, the Tab S looked like a supersized Galaxy S5, with a dotted pattern and a silver frame painted to look like it’s made of metal. The smaller version of the device had an 8.4-inch screen supporting a resolution of 1600x2560pixels at 359, while the larger variant used a 10.5-inch screen with a similar resolution, but the pixel density was decreased to 288ppi. Both models came with a Super AMOLED screen and this technology was developed by Samsung, being famous for delivering vibrant colors and a very good contrast. For the next generation Tab S, Samsung made some adjustments to the screen size, bringing a model with an 8-inch display supporting 1536x2048pixels at 320ppi, while the larger model was equipped with a 9.7-inch screen whose pixel density is only 264ppi. The back was also redesigned and now it’s made of a matte plastic. The new model is extremely slim, measuring only 5.6-inch, but we can say that the Tab S is also very slim at 6.6-inch.
Hardware
The first Tab S benefited from a Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor with four cores running at 1.9GHz and four cores were clocked at 1.3GHz, but it had another variant of processor which was used to power the larger model, being a 32bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.3GHz Krait and Samsung was generous with the RAM capacity, which supported 3GB.
The Tab S2 received the newer 64bit octa-core Exynos 5433 processor consisting of four cores clocked at 1.9GHz and four cores clocked at 1.3GHz, which were also supported by 3GB of RAM.
Both tablets posses a microSD card slot which allows extra storage of up to 128GB. The Tab S had two variants of internal memories of 16GB and 64GB, while the Tab S2 ditched the 16GB variant and a 64GB variant took its place.
Cameras and Batteries
Unfortunately, none of the cameras of the new tablet received any upgrades, so they’re stuck at a resolution of 8MP and 2.1MP respectively. Also, the only feature that is worth mentioning is autofocus.
The smaller version of the older Tab S came with a 4900 mAh battery, while the larger model was powered by a 7900 mAh one. The smaller version of the successor has a 4000 mAh battery, while the big version is kept alive by a 5870 mAh one.
