Toyota S-FR Racing Concept is the Meanest Little Race Car You’ve Ever Seen

 

Remember the grumpy-looking Toyota S-FR Concept that debuted earlier in the year? Well now Toyota is showing off its S-FR once again, this time, with extra grumpy. It’s the S-FR Racing Concept, and it’s making its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon in just a few weeks.

What it is is a hard-nose, no-nonsense racing version of the already sporty S-FR. The dimensions have been improved, and the aerodynamics heightened even further to cement this mini-monster as a performer on the track.

The S-FR Racing concept is 110 mm longer, 40 mm wider, and 50 mm lower than the original concept. It may not sound like much to the average consumer, but the improved ride height and body dimensions mean it would be more adept at taking corners.

That slightly stretched body also pairs well with a more aggressive look. A revised front fascia, a vented hood, side skirts, and a stiffer suspension. Not to mention the nearly indistinguishable (sarcasm) rear spoiler

Toyota won’t tell anyone what’s under the hood, but considering it was designed to undercut the slightly more powerful GT 86, rumors support the theory of a 1.5-liter, 130-horsepower engine.

Whatever the case, it looks mean, and it’s making its world debut at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon.
