Both
you and your friends will need to install the update for the new
features to work. Need help getting started with Chat 2.0? We’ve got you
covered.
Open Snapchat to your contacts list and swipe right on the person with whom you’re going to chat.
To video-chat, simply press the video camera icon. Your call will immediately go out, and as long as your friend has Chat 2.0 installed, they’ll receive a call notification.
As soon as they answer your call, you can start chatting.
If you don’t want them to see your face, you can tap on the green camera icon again and you’ll be able to see your friend’s feed without them seeing you.
If you’re on the receiving end of a video call, you can opt to Join, Ignore, or Watch it.
For voice calls, you simply have to press the phone
icon. As with video chat, your friend will get a notification telling
them they are receiving a call. When they answer, you’ll be connected.
If you’d like to listen to your friend, you can tap the green phone icon during your call to turn off your handset’s microphone. Tap the phone icon again to talk.
When you get a call, you can also opt to either Join, Ignore, or Listen to it.
Want to send a sticker? Tap the smiley face icon on the right side of the screen and choose the sticker you want to send. That’s it.
And that’s all you need to know to get around the newest version of Snapchat. Happy snapping!
